More Than a Pride Trip - Experience Buenos Aires Like a Local

The world is full of beautiful cities, but what makes Argentina truly unique is its dedication to the cultural arts and its progressive LGBTQIA+ history in Latin America. The capital of Buenos Aires is the epicenter of that cultural activity, where people come from around the country to share ideas, maté, and a helping hand through dictatorships, economic instability, and end of the world isolation.
Friendship is central to the culture, with International Friendship Day in July highlighting the sacred reverence of these relationships. This kind of reverence is exactly the type of nontraditional, radical, transformational connections we are trying to foster at Chosen Family Travel.

For many of us, the holidays can bring complicated feelings about family, belonging, and the lives we're building. Friendsgiving is an invitation to celebrate the family we choose—and to remember that we don't have to navigate this season alone.
This year, we're gathering in Buenos Aires to share good food, new traditions, laughter, and meaningful connection with people who are also creating lives on their own terms. At Chosen Family, we believe abundance isn't just about what we have; it's about who we have around the table. This is a week to slow down, be present, and celebrate the people and communities that keep us grounded.

Argentina was the first country in Latin America and the 10th in the world to legalize gay marriage in 2010. It has since become one of the largest LGBTQIA+ events in the world.
Pride month in Argentina is held every year in November to honor Nuestro Mundo (Our World), the first LGBTQ+ organization in the world and Latin America. As it is also at the end of the Spring season, its perfectly temperate weather and purple blossoming jacaranda trees are the ideal backdrop for getting to know this top queer destination.

Your queer travel trip is a balanced and thoughtful dive into queer identity, culture, and history. On this trip you’ll get personalized experiences into Argentinian culture. Learn about the artistic style of fileteado, try your hand at tango, experience the magic of an asado, and get to know locals at the laid back LGBTQ cultural centers.
We’ll also connect you with locals who can share the history of the movement, its current struggles, and the future hope for a more intersectional Argentina.
Why Travel With Us?
Walking into new rooms alone is scary, we all know this.
In an age where we often filter first through screens to mitigate uncertainty, here at Chosen Family Travel we hold your hand and lead you gently into the rooms you want to be in. We have both restarted our lives multiple times in various countries where no one knew our name. Language barriers, cultural missteps, the messy spectrum, the paradox of choice. We know that time and mental bandwidth is a finite resource. Let us help make it easier so you can focus on being present. We believe you can do it alone, but we don’t think you have to. In fact, we’d really like you to join. Come learn what you don’t know about what you don’t know. Be out, be proud. Be yourself with us in a new destination.
